Land Acquisition Manager - Supplemental Land

Headquartered in Houston, Texas, with teams across the U.S., we develop and operate solar PV and energy storage projects, aiming to benefit communities, farmers, and the environment.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Land Acquisition Manager to join our team. This role involves acquiring land for utility-scale solar projects and related agreements such as easements and access rights. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, knowledgeable about US power markets and renewable development, and possess excellent communication and negotiation skills. A passion for renewable energy is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Outreach to landowners, negotiation of surface agreements
  • Manage transaction processes with internal teams
  • Support third-party relationships, including legal interactions
  • Maintain detailed activity and status reports
  • Identify and communicate land-related project risks
  • Travel up to 70%
  • Perform additional duties as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Energy Management, or related field
  • 8+ years in land acquisition, with at least 3 years in utility-scale site acquisition
  • Experience in the renewable energy industry preferred
  • Knowledge of land ownership, mineral rights, and property research
  • Strong negotiation skills, experience with corporate landowners a plus
  • Understanding of real estate contracts and legal provisions
  • Familiarity with project development phases
  • Proficiency in MS Office; CRM and GIS experience a plus
  • Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills
