Job summary

DR Horton, Inc. is seeking a Land Accountant to analyze financial information, manage land/lot acquisition budgets, and prepare financial reports. The role supports land cost control and forecasting for subdivisions.

Responsibilities include reviewing budgets, creating land proformas, and processing payments. Travel may be required as part of land project oversight. The ideal candidate has a accounting degree and 2–5 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is required.
• Two to five years of related experience and/or training.
• GAAP understanding and adherence.
• Familiarity with land/lot contracts.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple duties.
• Proficiency with MS Office and email.

Responsibilities

• Review job costs for budget variances, cost code errors, and invoice amounts for land/lot acquisitions.
• Review Gross Profit Margins of subdivisions.
• Create land spreadsheet for payments.
• Run various reports and perform budget tracking.
• Prepare/update land acquisition proformas (LAPs), Forestar proformas, and FPS.
• Run a weekly funding request.
• Assist vendors with questions.
• Assist with reconciling transactions and budgets for homes sold at month-end.
• Conduct business professionally to support customers and company profitability.
• Ability to travel overnight.
