Full-Time Laminator Assistant Operator

At TC Transcontinental, we've got it made, and that's because of the expertise of our team. We are currently looking for a full-time Laminator Assistant Operator. The Laminator Assistant Operator is responsible for interpreting job instructions to ensure the successful setup and operation of the laminating machine to produce multi-ply laminated structures. Responsibilities include setting and adjusting control settings, performing safety checks, troubleshooting equipment issues, and leading, supporting, coaching, and training crew members to ensure safety, efficiency, and quality during setup and operation. Acts as a safety leader and prioritizes safety in all responsibilities.

Compensation: $19.90 per hour plus shift differential. 2nd shift (3:00 pm - 11:00 pm) and 3rd shift (11:00 pm - 7:00 am) available, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting a safe work environment, reporting injuries, hazards, and adhering to PPE and Food Safety policies.
• Maintaining a clean, organized, hazard-free work area.
• Preparing for jobs, performing changeovers, and ensuring materials, tools, and supplies are ready.
• Organizing tasks and crew for efficient setup and changeovers, minimizing waste.
• Handling machine setup tasks such as assembling blades, starting adhesive and coating flows, installing cylinders, and maintaining machine parts.
• Loading raw materials, preparing adhesives, tracking material usage, inspecting print and laminate quality.
• Training and mentoring team members, troubleshooting machine issues, and performing maintenance.
• Participating in continuous improvement initiatives and performing related duties as needed.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent, with reading and writing skills.
• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Laminator Operator or Assistant.
• Ability to read a ruler, interpret job orders, perform calculations, and operate basic tools.
• Customer-oriented, motivated, team player, problem solver, effective communicator, punctual, and flexible for overtime.
