Job summary

Atlas Molded Products in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Specialist/Utility Specialist on 3rd Shift to support lamination operations. The role requires accuracy with tape measures, reliability, and ability to pass drug screen and background check.

You will lead a small team, direct production, operate and set up lamination equipment, collect data in PeopleSoft ERP, maximize yield, reduce scrap, and ensure orders meet specs and productivity targets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must read a tape measure and perform basic math.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Computer literate; experience with Excel, Word, Outlook and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Read a tape measure and verify measurements.
• Direct production personnel to meet schedule, safety and quality standards.
• Lead a small team to ensure production and quality targets are met.

Job description

Atlas Molded Products is seeking a Specialist/Utility Specialist on 3rd Shift for the Grand Rapids, MI facility.

Specialist/Utility Primary Responsibilities

Candidate must be able to read a tape measure, be reliable, and pass a drug screen and background check.

• General understanding of the manufacturing processes, quality standards, equipment operations, safety requirements and departmental procedures.
• Direct production personnel to ensure orders are produced in a timely fashion and adhere to safety and quality standards in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
• Must be able to work independently and lead employees within a small group to ensure production schedule and quality standards are met and report issues to supervisor.
• Operate and set up equipment in the Lamination Department.
• Perform various data collection functions in PeopleSoft (ERP).
• Maximize yield and reduce scrap.
• Report department metrics.
• Verify order information and produce part(s) with the correct material, density, weight, size, and/or shape within quality tolerance to meet customer specifications while meeting productivity standards.

Specialist/Utility Experience

• Prior experience in a manufacturing / industrial environment preferred.
• Prior supervisory/lead experience preferred.

Specialist/Utility Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Must be fluent in the English language, both written and spoken.
• Must be able to use simple math and use basic hand-held measuring tools.
• Must be computer literate; Excel, Word, Outlook, ERP systems

Education, Licenses & Certifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
