Job summary

Atlas Molded Products in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Specialist/Utility on the 3rd shift to support the Lamination Department. You will operate equipment, read a tape measure, and help ensure production meets safety and quality standards.

Candidates should be reliable, able to lead a small team, pass a drug screen and background check, and be fluent in English. Prior manufacturing experience and ERP data entry are a plus; a high school diploma is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read a tape measure and perform basic math.
• Reliable and able to pass a drug screen and background check.
• General understanding of manufacturing processes and safety requirements.
• Ability to lead a small team and report issues to a supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Direct production personnel to meet production schedules while upholding safety and quality standards.

• Perform data collection in PeopleSoft (ERP).
• Maximize yield and reduce scrap.
• Verify orders and produce parts with correct material, density, weight, size, and shape within tolerance.

Specialist/Utility Primary Responsibilities

Candidate must be able to read a tape measure, be reliable, and pass a drug screen and background check.

• General understanding of the manufacturing processes, quality standards, equipment operations, safety requirements and departmental procedures.
• Direct production personnel to ensure orders are produced in a timely fashion and adhere to safety and quality standards in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
• Must be able to work independently and lead employees within a small group to ensure production schedule and quality standards are met and report issues to supervisor.
• Operate and set up equipment in the Lamination Department.
• Perform various data collection functions in PeopleSoft (ERP).
• Maximize yield and reduce scrap.
• Verify order information and produce part(s) with the correct material, density, weight, size, and/or shape within quality tolerance to meet customer specifications while meeting productivity standards.

Specialist/Utility Experience

• Prior experience in a manufacturing / industrial environment preferred.
• Prior supervisory/lead experience preferred.

Specialist/Utility Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Must be fluent in the English language, both written and spoken.
• Must be able to use simple math and use basic hand-held measuring tools.
• Must be computer literate; Excel, Word, Outlook, ERP systems

Education, Licenses & Certifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
