Job summary

City of Burlington seeks a Grounds Maintenance worker to perform routine maintenance and upkeep of city lakes and marina facilities. You will handle landscaping, cleaning, equipment upkeep, and assist marina staff with customer service and reservations.

Responsibilities include operating mowers, tractors, weed eaters, stump grinders, and trucks; maintaining supplies and safety procedures; and working evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and considerable work experience in maintenance work, preferably at a park or marina.
• Valid North Carolina Driver's License.
• Must possess a valid North Carolina Pesticide Applicator License or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Must be able to operate a boat.
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance to keep lakes and marinas safe and attractive.
• General landscaping, cleaning building interiors, equipment maintenance.
• Assist marina operators with office tasks and customer service.
• Operate and maintain mowers, tractors, weed eaters, leaf blowers, stump grinders, and city trucks.
• Purchase supplies, write purchase orders, and maintain records; craft and paint signs for the lakes.
