Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Technical Lead for the Lakebase Manager (LBM) team. The role focuses on driving, building, and operating the central control plane for Lakebase, including database lifecycle management, wake/suspend, hot standby, and HA failover.

The stack includes Go, Rust, PostgreSQL, and Kubernetes. You will set technical direction, mentor engineers, and partner with leadership to shape a long-term technical roadmap.

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems.
• Proven track record as an individual contributor leader setting architecture and direction.
• Hands-on depth: design systems and write production code across services.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical direction for the Lakebase Manager (LBM) and own reliability.
• Drive architecture and design, and write code for hard parts of projects.
• Set and uphold high technical standards through architecture reviews and testing.
• Mentor engineers and grow distributed-systems and design skills across the team.
• Define SLIs, meet SLOs, and drive reliability improvements across the lifecycle.
