Job summary

Lake Country Transportation is seeking a School Bus Driver to safely transport students along designated routes and to communicate effectively with school partners and dispatch. The role emphasizes integrity, respect, and grace in every interaction.

Will train candidates with a current CLP and provide behind-the-wheel preparation. Competitive pay with guaranteed hours during the school year, plus benefits and ongoing development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL or CLP with school bus and passenger endorsements.
• Pass Background Check, Clearinghouse, and have compliant MVR.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Previous experience driving a school bus preferred but not required.
• Will provide paid behind the wheel training to qualified candidates with current CLP.

What You’ll Do

As a SchoolBusDriver, you’ll safely transport students while providing high-quality, consistent communication with dispatch and school partners. You’ll lead by example, promote a positive culture, and help ensure each ride reflects Lake Country's values of integrity, respect, and grace.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a bus along a designated route to pick up and drop off students at scheduled stops
• Follow all LCT policies, procedures, and safety standards, including the Pre-Trip Inspection and Smith System concepts
• Arrive at Base on time and prepared for routes (typically: 5:00-7:00 a.m. and 1:00-3:00 p.m.)
• Maintain logs and reports, which may include mileage, fuel consumption, and student counts
• Communicate effectively with parents, scholars, teachers, and colleagues
• Demonstrate leadership, enthusiasm, and professionalism on and off the road
• Keep the interior and exterior of the bus clean and presentable
• Motivate and support fellow team members
• Protect confidentiality and be respectful
• Attend all safety meetings
• Solve problems using integrity, respect, and grace

Education & Qualifications

Compensation

• $28.50 - $32.50 per hour, depending on years of experience
