Job summary

A growing Louisiana-based community bank in Lafayette is seeking an experienced Commercial Lender to expand and develop a new growth market. This high-visibility role emphasizes business development, relationship management, and portfolio building with strong leadership and underwriting support.

The ideal candidate will have CRE and C&I lending experience, the ability to independently grow a portfolio, and the potential for future market leadership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial lending experience
• Experience with CRE and C&I lending
• Independently manage and grow a commercial portfolio
• Existing business development network and ability to bring relationships preferred
• Strong credit analysis, loan structuring, and risk management skills
• Self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with strong communication skills
• Community banking background preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop and grow commercial banking relationships throughout the Lafayette market and surrounding areas
• Build and manage a portfolio of CRE, C&I, and business banking relationships
• Generate new loan and deposit opportunities through business development and community involvement
• Structure, negotiate, and present commercial credit requests for approval
• Maintain strong credit quality while managing client relationships throughout the lending process
• Partner with underwriting and credit teams to ensure timely loan processing and portfolio management
• Expand the bank's presence in a developing territory with support from executive leadership
• Represent the bank within the local business community and professional organizations
• Cross-sell treasury management, deposit, and other banking solutions to commercial clients
