Terros Health is hiring a LADDER Peer Support Specialist at our McDowell Rd Health Center in Phoenix, AZ. This full-time role involves mentoring clients, facilitating recovery groups, and coordinating transportation to support recovery goals.

You will work with clinicians and behavioral health technicians, applying strength-based engagement and lived experience to promote wellness across physical and mental health needs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a behavioral health setting.
  • Minimum 1 year of self-identified lived experience with substance use.
  • Arizona Peer Certification preferred or ability to obtain within 90 days.
  • CPR/First Aid certification within 60 days of starting.
  • Valid Arizona driver’s license with 3+ years driving experience.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and orient clients to the LADDER program.
  • Establish therapeutic relationships to mentor and model recovery.
  • Provide transportation for clients enrolled in LADDER.
  • Plan and facilitate activities, groups, and peer-led sessions.
  • Document services following agency guidelines.
  • Participate in meetings and trainings as required.
  • Engage clients in the community and connect with services.

As a recovery support specialist, you will be providing a wide range of direct support to assist clients in reaching their recovery goals. You will work closely with your colleagues including clinicians and behavioral health technicians. Flexibility, dependability and teamwork are the fundamental principle of a successful peer support specialist in the LADDER program. Understanding of recovery principles and the ability to utilize personal experience to benefit others.Basic computer skills such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, electronic medical record experience, NextGen preferred.Must be able to pass the Arizona Department of Child Safety Direct Service Central Registry Clearance process.Must have valid Arizona driver’s license, be 21 years of age with minimum 3 years driving experience, and meet requirements of Terros Health’s driving policy.Must have a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card or apply for an Arizona fingerprint clearance card (Level 1) within 7 working days of assuming role.Must pass a TB Test.Physical demands of this position are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
