Job Summary

The Lactation Specialist provides consultative and direct care for the management of breastfeeding mothers and babies at Reading Hospital. Supports the Lactation Support Program by training and supervising Lactation Resource Nurses and peer support staff, advocates for breastfeeding staff, oversees the Breastfeeding Pumping Station on the R1 area, and provides discharge follow‑up as necessary.

Schedule

Mon – Fri 8:30 am – 5 pm (flexible start and end times to meet practice needs).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED

Experience

• Relevant experience in lactation support or a related field

Certification and Licensure

• BLS Certification
• IBCLC Lactation Specialist Certification within 6 months of hire
