The role involves supporting the Lactation Support Program, overseeing the Breastfeeding Pumping station, and providing consultative and direct care. Candidates should possess a High School Diploma and relevant certifications, including BLS and IBCLC within 6 months of hire.

The position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to provide support efficiently within a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS Certification is necessary.
• IBCLC Lactation Specialist Certification within 6 months of hire.

Job Summary

The Lactation Specialist provides consultative and direct care for the management of breastfeeding mothers and babies. Supports the Lactation Support Program, which includes training and use of Lactation resource nurses and peer support staff. Functions as an advocate for Reading Hospital staff who are breastfeeding through oversight of the Breastfeeding Pumping station on the R1 area. Provides discharge follow up when deemed necessary.

Schedule

Mon - Fri 8:30 a - 5 p. The scheduled start and end times require flexibility to meet the needs of the practice.
