Job summary

Northside Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse focused on lactation management in Atlanta. You will support patient and staff education, provide lactation counseling, and collaborate with physicians and families to promote successful breastfeeding outcomes.

The role requires RN licensure in Georgia, BLS and unit-specific ACLS/NRP/PALS certifications, and a minimum of two years of RN experience post-orientation. Preference given to BSN holders and lactation experience.

Qualifications

  • RN licensed in Georgia in good standing.
  • Two years of full-time RN experience post-orientation/residency.

Responsibilities

  • Implements standards of care, policies and procedures for breastfeeding management.
  • Provides in-service education for neonatal, obstetric, and pediatric staff to advance professional development.
  • Assists in designing and implementing patient education materials for antepartum and postpartum breastfeeding.
  • Provides telephone counseling to breastfeeding mothers in the community.
  • Collaborates with physicians, nurses and families to promote successful lactation.
  • Evaluates and assists with breastfeeding aids and equipment.
  • Designs individualized patient teaching plans to promote consistent care in lactation management.
  • Keeps Lactation Coordinator informed of administrative and clinical matters.
