Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed as an RN in Georgia in good standing.
• Minimum of two years of full-time RN experience post-orientation or post-residency.
• BLS certification required; ACLS/NRP/PALS certifications preferred or unit specific.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a resource for patients and health care providers in lactation management.
• Assist in patient and staff education related to breastfeeding.
• Implement standards of care and policies for breastfeeding management.
• Provide antepartum and postpartum breastfeeding teaching in 1:1 or class settings.
• Offer telephone lactation counseling to community mothers.
