You will develop breastfeeding plans, educate parents and staff, update protocols, and provide bedside consultations to ensure infants and parents are well supported.

The role emphasizes autonomy, collaboration with a dedicated team, and applying current lactation guidelines.

Qualifikationen

• Associate degree, preferably in nursing.
• Minimum of 2 years professional nursing experience.
• BLS Certification.
• Registered Nurse.
• Certified Lactation Consultant or IBCLC (CLC/IBCLC).

Aufgaben

• Encourage breastfeeding and provide bedside consultations and education to parents and medical staff.
• Evaluate parent and infant interest in breastfeeding and tailor plans accordingly.
• Provide specialized lactation support and follow-up visits during hospital stay.
• Keep staff informed about breastfeeding protocols, care plans, and new information.
• Document teachings and communicate findings to relevant staff members.
• Regularly assess the breastfeeding program and implement necessary changes.
• Participate in data collection and reporting on neonatal breastfeeding outcomes.
• Provide information on breast pump rentals or purchases when needed.
