Job summary

BayCare Health System in Tampa seeks a part-time RN Lactation Consultant to support breastfeeding families at St Josephs Womens. You will provide lactation care, educate staff, and model professional accountability.

The role requires an RN license, BLS, NRP, and IBCLC/CLC or equivalent; 3 years in a clinical specialty and mother/baby experience are preferred. Shift hours are daytime, with no remote work.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license.
• 3 years experience in a Clinical Specialty.
• Associates Degree in Nursing.
• Mother/Baby RN experience is strongly preferred.
• CLC or IBCLC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide lactation education to breastfeeding mothers and infants.
• Serve as a resource and mentor to staff on breastfeeding practices.
• Utilize nursing process and clinical standards to plan patient care.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to the health care team as needed.

Position Description: RN - Lactation Consultant

The Lactation Consultant – RN provides specialized assistance to the breastfeeding mothers and infants, provides lactation education to the staff and customers, and serves as a role model for the staff in working with breastfeeding families. The Lactation Consultant utilizes the nursing process and clinical standards, delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team, is responsible for professional accountability and development, and serves as a resource for the staff.
