Job summary

BayCare Health System in Tampa, FL is seeking a part-time RN Lactation Consultant to provide specialized breastfeeding support to mothers and infants. The role includes education for staff and families, using the nursing process, and acting as a resource within the team.

Requirements include an active RN license, BLS, NRP, and CLC or IBCLC certification, with 3 years of clinical experience and an Associate Degree in Nursing. Mother/Baby RN experience preferred.

Position Description: RN - Lactation Consultant

The Lactation Consultant – RN provides specialized assistance to the breastfeeding mothers and infants, provides lactation education to the staff and customers, and serves as a role model for the staff in working with breastfeeding families. The Lactation Consultant utilizes the nursing process and clinical standards, delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team, is responsible for professional accountability and development, and serves as a resource for the staff.
