Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Lactation Consultant to provide assessment, intervention, and education on breastfeeding for childbearing families across the network, including Jersey Shore University Medical Center.

Responsibilities include documenting teaching and interventions, coordinating with nursing staff on competencies, and contributing to physician education on breastfeeding practices at the facility.

Qualifications

• Current and valid NJ Nursing license is required.
• Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS/CPR certification is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of OB nursing experience required.
• IBCLC in current active status is required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing and/or Master of Science in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide lactation consultation to childbearing families within all areas of the Hackensack Meridian Health Network.
• Communicates with professional staff regarding breastfeeding patients; document fully all teaching and interventions provided to breastfeeding families and assist with nursing staff competencies and physician education regarding breastfeeding.
