Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provide education and support for breastfeeding mother and baby.
• Assess mother and infant, and devise a plan of care.
• Instruct and coach mothers in breastfeeding positions, latch, frequency and duration of feeds, and milk transfer.
• Provide telephone support for discharged mothers.
• Teach breastfeeding families in individual consultations and in support groups.
