Job summary

UCF Lake Nona Hospital is seeking a compassionate Lactation Consultant RN to provide direct lactation care to obstetric patients in a patient-centered care model. You will assess clinical situations, manage treatment autonomously, and collaborate with a strong team to deliver high-quality care during patients' stays.

This role emphasizes lactation support, advocacy within an interdisciplinary team, and education for patients and families, with a focus on safe, efficient care and evidence-based

Qualifications

• RN with lactation experience in obstetric care
• Certification requirements: IBCLC or RLC with plan for completion within 2 years
• Active Florida RN license or multi-state with Florida license in 60 days after relocation
• BLS-AHA Provider card required within 30 days of start

Responsibilities

• Provides skilled direct lactation care and instruction to breastfeeding mothers and infants
• Promotes breastfeeding and supports mothers and families
• Assists with evidence-based care management within the clinical setting
• Advocates for patients as part of the interdisciplinary team
• Ensures effective use of time, supplies, and equipment
• Educates patients and families during their stay
