Job summary

Bridgewater State University seeks an Assistant Coach for Men's Lacrosse Club to oversee day-to-day operations, teach lacrosse skills, and develop student leaders during practice and games in the academic year.

This temporary 9-month role focuses on advising student coaches, coordinating logistics with athletics staff, and upholding university policies. Evening and weekend availability and First Aid/CPR certification required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1–2 years coaching and/or competing experience at the high school level or beyond with understanding of lacrosse.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for a diverse audience.
• Current certification in First Aid / CPR (AED).

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the athletic team and teach skills during practice and games.
• Support club officers and assist in leadership development of student members.
• Ensure compliance with university rules and affiliations governing club sports.
• Coordinate logistics with athletic department staff and managers.
• Attend payroll training and adhere to campus payroll procedures.
• Promote sportsmanship, diversity, and fair play across all constituents.
