Job Title: LabVIEW Test Engineer
Job Description
The LabVIEW Test Engineer designs, develops, and maintains automated test systems that support electronic assembly and PCBA manufacturing. This role combines hands‑on work with test equipment, software development in NI LabVIEW and TestStand, and close collaboration with production, IT, and R&D teams to ensure reliable, efficient, and scalable test processes. The engineer actively contributes to continuous improvement, supports new product introductions, and ensures that test software and data systems operate correctly and consistently.
Responsibilities
- Analyze non-routine test and production issues to understand root causes and determine effective corrective actions.
- Ensure the implementation of assigned actions as defined in the manufacturing action plan, including audits, failure analysis activities, and improvement plans.
- Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot automated test equipment using commercial instruments such as NI PXI systems.
- Work with IT resources to ensure test software and data systems based on SQL database servers operate correctly, including performing data maintenance as required.
- Communicate test‑related issues and findings to the R&D department, including submitting forms, markups, and other documentation updates.
- Support the analysis and continuous improvement of production test yield by identifying root causes of failures and proposing practical solutions.
- Support the transfer of test processes and technologies across the global supply chain, ensuring consistency and reliability of test methods.
- Contribute to the definition of test requirements and the creation of test processes for new products as part of the new product introduction team.
- Ensure the implementation of new test processes and tools in line with assigned action plans and project timelines.
- Apply problem anticipation and solving techniques and demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills to resolve test and equipment issues.
- Use training in electronics and the ability to analyze electrical schematics to diagnose and resolve test failures and equipment problems.
- Perform mechanical disassembly and reassembly of various test fixtures and equipment using common tools to support maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Navigate and manage test environments that involve both Windows and Linux systems for products tested in a Windows-based test environment.
- Collaborate effectively within a team environment, build strong working relationships, and maintain a customer‑focused approach to supporting production and R&D.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency with NI LabVIEW for developing and maintaining automated test software.
- Experience with NI TestStand for managing and executing automated test sequences.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Windows-based PC hardware and software, including versions such as Windows 98, XP, 7, and 10.
- Experience in developing and maintaining automated test equipment using commercial instruments such as NI PXI systems.
- Experience working in an electronic assembly and PCBA manufacturing environment.
- Experience using boundary scan tools such as XJTAG and Corelis.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong, collaborative relationships.

- Strong troubleshooting skills, including problem anticipation and structured problem‑solving techniques.
