Responsibilities

• Accurately interpret and apply information from work orders, job orders, specifications, ISO’s, blueprints, or other drawings. Recognize basic blueprints or symbols relevant to the job.
• Identify, recognize, and demonstrate safe usage of hand tools and power tools appropriate for the task.
• Recognize various materials used in the craft and demonstrate a working knowledge of proper material handling techniques.
• Select and safely operate appropriate equipment, including (but not limited to) manlifts, forklifts, and company trucks.
• Demonstrate knowledge and practice of safe rigging procedures.
• Identify, explain, and perform crane signals correctly.
• Show proficiency in welding parts using various welding processes on different metals such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloys.
• Use alignment devices for fabrication accurately.
• Qualify and pass all required welding performance tests.
• Produce welds that meet 100% X-ray quality standards.
• Operate oxy-acetylene flame cutting equipment safely and effectively.
• Understand and adhere to regulations governing quality control codes.
• Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, or bolt components to achieve the required configurations and positions for welding.
• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Remove rough spots from workpieces using portable grinders, hand files, or scrapers.
