Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist in loading/unloading equipment and supplies
• Set up worksite traffic and safety controls, securing the work area
• Follow traffic control plans per Caltrans requirements
• Participate in all phases of underground construction: loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal, and placement of materials and equipment
• Hand dig using shovel and mechanical tools
• Install and maintain underground telecommunications cabling
• Climb into/out of equipment (trucks, backhoes, trenchers, etc.)
• Operate or work around heavy machinery
• Work in congested or remote areas
• Maintain communication with crew members for safe coordination
• Perform general construction work under supervisor’s guidance
• Flagging, property or worksite restoration
• Maintain safety standards and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

• Be 18 years or older
• Authorization to work in the U.S.
• High School Diploma, GED, or relevant experience
• Valid driver's license
• Pass DOT physical exam and obtain medical card
• Basic knowledge of utility trucks, equipment, and hand tools
• Effective communication skills
• Regular and timely attendance
• Physical ability to perform job duties for at least 8 hours/day, including lifting up to 100 lbs
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions and wear safety gear

Additional Information

Pay Range: $22.00/hr - $28.00/hr
