Job summary

Lambert's Cable Splicing Co. in Rocky Mount, NC is hiring a Laborer Telecom Aerial to support an aerial crew with the installation and maintenance of fiber and telecom cables and materials.

You’ll provide tools and parts to the crew, move equipment, stock and service vehicles, perform hand digging, direct traffic per DOT guidelines, and complete door-tagging and resident notifications. This role requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to work in all weather.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid state driver’s license with clean record.
• Certified pole climber or willingness to become certified.
• Experience in telecommunications or construction is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide tools, parts, and materials to crew members as needed.
• Reposition or move bucket trucks, trailers, or equipment as directed.
• Ensure that door-tagging and resident notifications for construction activities are completed before starting work each day.
• Stock, clean, and maintain all company vehicles and equipment.
• Perform hand digging using shovels and mechanical tools.
• Direct/flag traffic flow in line with local DOT guidelines.
• Work overtime, travel, and perform on-call/afterhours responsibilities as needed.
• Perform work in all weather conditions.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do

What You’ll Need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Certified pole climber or be willing to become certified
• Previous labor experience in telecommunications is a plus

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level at heights, in confined spaces and in remote locations, climb stairs, bend, stoop, stand, walk and lift up to 55 pounds, operate vehicle & heavy machinery
• Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse
