As a Aerial Laborer you will perform duties related to install and repair aerial telecommunications cable and ensure scope of work performed is within standards required by customers.

What you’ll do as a Laborer Telecom Aerial

  • You will be the ground hand for technicians, provide parts as needed, move bucket truck as directed by technician.
  • You will ensure that door-tagging and resident notification of our construction activities has been completed prior to starting each workday.
  • You will ensure daily inspection and maintenance of fleet vehicles and equipment is performed and documented. If appropriately licensed, drive company vehicles as needed to jobsite.
  • Perform hand digging using shovels and mechanical tools.
  • Direct/flag traffic flow in line with local DOT guidelines.
  • Work overtime, travel, and perform on-call/afterhours responsibilities as needed.
  • Perform work in all weather conditions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need

  • To be 18 years of age or older.
  • Authorization to work in the United States for this company.
  • High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience.
  • Valid standard Driver's License with a minimum of 2 years driving experience or Class A Commercial Driver's License.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and company drug screening.
  • Must be able to attend and pass all company required training as needed.

Additional qualifications

  • 0-1 or more years of unskilled labor experience, in telecommunications is a plus.
  • Certified pole climber or be willing to become certified.
  • Previous labor experience in telecommunications is a plus.
  • You are able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed with or without assistance.
  • You may have knowledge of Installation of aerial and underground cables and/or support members in conformance with all applicable codes, regulations, and customer specifications (NEC Electrical Code, System and/or City Specifications).
  • May be required to work over-time; after hours; on weekends or be on-call as work is needed to ensure work is completed.
  • May include working nights and holidays as needed.
  • May be required to travel in state or overnight as necessary to meet business and job requirements.
  • Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position.

  • The noise level in the work environment for this position is moderate.
  • Employees performing functions of this position are regularly exposed to outside weather conditions which can include but is not limited to: extreme heat and cold temperatures; inclement weather such as rain, snow, sleet and dust as well as adverse driving conditions including wet roads, icy roads, and fog.
  • Employees in this job classification may be exposed to dust, fumes or other airborne pathogens.
  • Employees may be exposed to toxic or corrosive chemicals as well as moving machinery parts and pieces.
  • Specific vision abilities required to perform this job include but are not limited to: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus potentially near and/or far as needed.

Pay Range: The hourly range for the Laborer Telecom Aerial position is $22.00 - $30.00 per hour depending on experience.
