Job summary

Stine Construction is Southeast Louisiana-based heavy civil contractor seeking experienced full-time Laborers to assist with heavy civil construction projects around Gulf Coast facilities.

Laborers perform manual tasks, operate or move equipment, plan and coordinate labor activities, and maintain a clean, safe jobsite while following safety procedures and reporting issues to foreman.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in heavy construction projects.
• Some experience moving and operating heavy and light duty equipment.
• Ability to plan and coordinate labor activities.
• Demonstrates ability to comprehend supervisor’s instructions and lead teammates in executing appropriate tasks.
• Excavates and fills trenches and ditches with hand tools.
• Uses a variety of hand, pneumatic, and electrical power tools.
• Maintains a clean jobsite; picks up tools and equipment and secures site daily to eliminate hazards.
• Performs materials handling and storage.
• Loads and unloads trucks and hauls and hoists materials.
• Ensures proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed; brings problems to foreman/safetydirector/HR manager.

TheSkilledLaborerperformstasksinvolvingphysical(manual)laboratcivilconstructionprojects.Theywillhavegeneralknowledgeofcivilconstructionprojectsandlaborworkduetoexperienceoncivilconstructionprojects.Theywillhavesomeexperienceoperatingormovingheavyandlightequipment.Theyhavethecapacitytoplanandcoordinatelabortasks.Thepositionmayoperateavarietyofhandandpowertoolsandmaycleanandpreparesites,digtrenches,setbracestosupportthesidesofexcavations,erectscaffolding,cleanuprubbleanddebris,andremovewastematerials.Thepositionmayassistothercraftworkers.
