Job summary

The Hydaker-Wheatlake Company is hiring a Gas Laborer to join the Indiana team. This role primarily involves removing and installing customer meters, rebuilding outside piping, and performing appliance re-lights on field projects, under the supervision of the Foreman.

You’ll help ensure the right equipment, tooling, and materials are on site and maintain strict safety and quality standards. Qualifications include a High School diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's license with a clean

Responsibilities

• Remove and install customer meters.
• Rebuild outside customer piping.
• Perform re-lights of customer appliances.
• In conjunction with the Foreman, ensure proper equipment, tooling, and materials are on site as needed by field crews and/or subcontractors, and remove unnecessary rentals or equipment to prevent charges to projects.
• Follow Productivity Work Plan to maximize crew productivity for each project.
• Complete manual labor duties including loading/unloading material and equipment, digging trenches and bell holes, laying and fusing pipe, and using manual and powered tools.
• Follow Hydaker-Wheatlake's high-safety and quality standards.

The Hydaker-Wheatlake Company is looking to hire a Gas Laborer to join the team in Indiana!

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The principal duties and responsibilities of the Laborer include, but are not limited to the following:

• Responsible for familiarization with the complete scope and proposed method of construction for all The Hydaker-Wheatlake Company's projects that may be assigned.
• Remove and install customer meters
• Rebuild outside customer piping
• Perform re-lights of customer appliances
• In conjunction with the Foreman, ensures that proper equipment, tooling, and materials are on the job site as needed by field crews and/or subcontractors, and to remove any unnecessary rentals or equipment to prevent unnecessary charges to the projects.
• Follow Productivity Work Plan to assure the highest crew productivity possible for each project assigned.
• Responsible for the completion of various manual labor duties which includes, but is not limited to, loading and unloading material and equipment, digging trenches and bell holes, laying and fusing pipe, utilizing manual and powered tools, operate vehicles used for hauling tools and equipment.
• Responsible for following The Hydaker-Wheatlake Company's high-safety and quality standards.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Current driver's license with good driving record

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
• Current DOT physical or ability to obtain one
• 1-2 years' experience in construction
• Completion of OSHA 10 and/or 40 Hour Training
