Job summary

The Hydaker-Wheatlake Company in Southwest Michigan is seeking a Mechanical Licensed Pipefitter to join the team in Southwest Michigan. This role requires a Mechanical Contractor License with a Natural Gas Fuel Line Piping classification and a valid driver's license with a clean record.

The candidate will work with the foreman to ensure the correct equipment and materials are available, follow the Productivity Work Plan, and maintain high safety and quality standards on site.

Qualifications

• Meets Mechanical Contractor License with Natural Gas Fuel Line Piping classification.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Familiarize with the full scope and proposed construction methods for projects.
• Coordinate with Foreman to ensure correct equipment, tooling and materials are on site.
• Remove unnecessary rentals or equipment to prevent extra project charges.
• Perform manual labor duties such as loading/unloading materials, digging trenches, laying and fusing pipe, and operating tools and vehicles.
• Adhere to The Hydaker-Wheatlake Company's high-safety and quality standards.

Job description

The Hydaker-Wheatlake Company is looking to hire a Mechanical Licensed Pipefitter to join the team in Southwest Michigan!

This role requires a Mechanical Contractor License with a Natural Gas Fuel Line Piping classification.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The principal duties and responsibilities of the Pipefitter include, but are not limited to the following:

• Responsible for familiarization with the complete scope and proposed method of construction for all The Hydaker-Wheatlake Company's projects that may be assigned to him / her.
• In conjunction with the Foreman, ensures that proper equipment, tooling, and materials are on the job site as needed by field crews and/or subcontractors, and to remove any unnecessary rentals or equipment to prevent unnecessary charges to the projects.
• Follow Productivity Work Plan to assure the highest crew productivity possible for each project assigned.
• Responsible for the completion of various manual labor duties which includes, but is not limited to, loading and unloading material and equipment, digging trenches and bell holes, laying and fusing pipe, utilizing manual and powered tools, operate vehicles used for hauling tools and equipment.
• Responsible for following The Hydaker-Wheatlake Company's high-safety and quality standards.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Mechanical Contractor License with Natural Gas Fuel Line Piping classification
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Current driver's license with good driving record

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 1-2 years' experience in residential and commercial pipe fitting
