Valliant Consulting Group is seeking a dependable Waste Collection Worker in New Mexico. The role supports the garbage collection crew, loading trash, debris, and bulky items from roadsides and assisting in keeping neighborhoods clean.

You will operate limb chipping equipment, collect excess trash, and assist with dumping at transfer stations or landfills while ensuring loads meet disposal rules. A valid driver's license and passing a drug/alcohol screen are required.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in waste collection or similar role is preferred.
• Combination of education and related work experience may be considered.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Must be able to pass a drug/alcohol screen and background investigation.

Responsabilidades

• Assist garbage collection crew with loading trash, debris, and discarded items from roadsides.
• Operate limb chipping machine to remove limbs and leaves from residential areas.
• Collect excess trash along streets and buildings.
• Assist with dumping solid waste at transfer stations or landfills.
• Verify compliance of waste entering facility and remove non-compliant materials.
• Identify hazardous waste materials and ensure loads are suitable for landfill disposal.
• Perform ground maintenance at transfer station site.
• Build and foster effective working relationships with others.
• Maintain knowledge of trends related to responsibilities and participate in professional development.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY

Contributes to the efficient daily operation of the department by performing collection of garbage, trash, and yard waste. Maintains professionalism in all interactions with internal external customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Assists garbage collection crew with loading trash, debris, and discarded furniture and appliances from roadsides.
• Operates limb chipping machine to remove limbs and leaves from residential areas.
• Collects excess trash along streets and buildings.
• Assists with dumping solid waste at transfer station or landfill.
• Verifies compliance of waste entering facility; removes non-compliant materials.

• Identifies hazardous waste materials, places them in compliant housing units, and ensures loads are suitable for landfill disposal.

• Performs ground maintenance at transfer station site.
• Builds and fosters effective working relationships with others.
• Maintains current knowledge of trends and developments relevant to assigned responsibilities and promotes ongoing professional growth through participation in professional organizations, seminars, workshops, classes, conferences, and other professional development opportunities.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED.

• Experience in waste collection, or similar role, preferred.

• A combination of relevant education and related work experience may be considered.

• Valid driver's license is required.

• Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol screen and background investigation.
