Job summary

ADP, Inc. in Fremont, CA is hiring a full-time Laborer to support plumbers on AMPAM construction projects. You will prepare job sites, move materials, and assist with installation and cleanup under the Foreman’s direction.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 6 months to 1 year of construction experience (prefer plumbing), ability to lift up to 30 pounds, a valid driver’s license, and strong teamwork. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

LABORER-Northern California

FULL TIME Laborer Fremont, CA, US

Salary Range: $19.00 To $28.00 Hourly

Job Summary

The Laborer supports and assists Plumbers and Apprentice Plumbers in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems, domestic water systems, sewer systems, and related equipment on AMPAM construction projects. Working under the direction of the Foreman, the Laborer prepares and maintains the job site, moves materials, and performs general construction support tasks safely and efficiently. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Key Responsibilities Include: (But not limited to the following)

Site Preparation & Support

• Prepare and organize work sites to support efficient construction and installation activities.
• Clean and remove debris, trash, and hazardous materials from the job site.
• Dig trenches and pour concrete as directed by the Foreman.
• Assist in installing sewer pipes, drains, and related plumbing components.
• Transport materials, tools, and equipment to and from work areas on the job site.
• Load and unload materials and equipment from trucks.
• Align components and assist with layout according to blueprints and Foreman instructions.
• Clean and maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition.

Safety, Conduct & General Duties

• Follow all AMPAM safety policies, Cal/OSHA regulations, and Foreman direction at all times.
• Communicate clearly with the Foreman and crew; respond promptly to instructions and requests for assistance.
• Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality; take responsibility for assigned tasks and complete them on time.
• Treat coworkers, customers, and other trades with respect; show initiative and offer help when needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site; enforce housekeeping standards.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months to 1 year of residential and/or commercial construction experience, preferably in plumbing.
• Ability to follow instructions, work as part of a team, and respond to Foreman direction.
• Ability to read and interpret basic written information and align components per blueprints.
• Able to perform physically demanding work, including lifting and moving up to 30 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to project sites.

Preferred Qualifications

• First Aid / CPR certificate.
• Prior exposure to plumbing, sewer, or domestic water system installation.
• Reliable transportation to and from project sites.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred given the team environment.

Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding field position. The Laborer must be able to:

• Sit or stand for long periods; regularly walk, climb ladders and scaffolding, and work at heights.
• Regularly lift and move up to 30 pounds; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces.
• Work in indoor or outdoor environments with seasonal heat, cold, and adverse weather; exposure to fumes, dust, odors, oil, grease, gases, chemicals, and hazardous materials.
• Use hands and fingers to operate tools and controls; work around machinery with moving parts and in confined work spaces.
