Job summary

Army NAF is seeking a dedicated Grounds Maintenance worker at Fort Riley to operate riding mowers and perform lawn and grounds upkeep. The role involves significant manual effort, outdoor exposure, and strict safety practices in line with project requirements.

  • Incumbent is responsible for selecting the most appropriate type of equipment to accomplish the work, following safety practices, obtaining assistance, and performing routine maintenance and adjustments on equipment.
  • Works indoors and outdoors; may be exposed to adverse weather conditions, drafts, noise, dust, and dirt; exposure to bruises, muscle strains, cuts and scrapes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Allowances and Differentials
  • This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
