Obsolete Site in the United States is seeking a skilled technician to troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul major vehicle components, including engines, transmissions, differentials, and fuel systems. Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid driver's license as required by local/state or military regulations.
  • Work is often performed in tiring, awkward and uncomfortable positions.
  • Frequent standing, bending, stooping and crawling.
  • Lifts supplies and/or equipment weighing up to 44 lbs.
  • Exposed to drafts, noise, fumes, dirt, dust and grease, and automotive fluids that may cause irritation from chemicals.
  • Required to follow safety procedures and use standard safety equipment such as gloves, ear protectors, and safety glasses and exercise proper handling of equipment and hazardous materials to avoid serious injury in the work area.
  • Must be able to work irregular hours of duty, to include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.

  • Disassemble, repair, replace, recondition, and rebuild components according to manuals and trade practices.
  • Operate vehicles to test repair and move around facility and perform other duties assigned.
  • Observe safety, sanitation and hazardous waste disposal rules.

Allowances and Differentials
  • This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
