Messer Construction Co. is an award-winning construction manager and general contractor specializing in complex commercial building projects. We are currently seeking experienced Laborers to advance their careers in construction. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of commercial construction and remodeling practices, including procedures, techniques, tools, equipment, materials, specifications, quality and cost control measures, and safety standards.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• General and final cleanup
• Distribution and cleanup of power hand-tools, extension cords, and generators
• Dewatering activities, including setting up water pumps and hoses
• Manual moving of formwork, lumber, rebar, and materials
• Hand excavation and backfill
• Preparing sub-base and placing vapor barriers and insulation
• Placing and tying rebar
• Pouring concrete using various methods
• Finishing concrete with raking, screeding, edging, and broom finishes
• Vibrating concrete and placing blankets
• Formwork stripping, wrecking, cleaning, and oiling
• Demolition of masonry, drywall, partitions, ceilings, and finishes
• Using demolition tools such as jackhammers and air tools
• Operating cutoff saws and cutting torches
• Performing other tasks as directed by the supervisor

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least three years of experience in commercial construction
• Reliable transportation
• Willingness to work within a 50-mile radius
• Ability to work in various weather conditions
