Join Our Team as a Laborer - Indianapolis, IN at Messer Construction Co.

Messer Construction Co. is an award-winning construction manager and general contractor specializing in complex commercial building projects. We are currently seeking experienced Laborers who are eager to advance their careers in construction.

About the Role: The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of commercial construction and remodeling practices, along with a comprehensive understanding of procedures, techniques, tools, equipment, materials, specifications, quality and cost control measures, and safety requirements related to commercial building projects.

Responsibilities May Include But Are Not Limited To:

• General and final cleanup
• Distribution and cleanup of power hand-tools, extension cords, and generators
• Dewatering activities, including setting up water pumps and hoses
• Manual moving of formwork, lumber, rebar, and materials
• Hand excavation and backfill
• Hand grading of sub-base
• Placement of vapor barriers and insulation
• Placement and tying of rebar
• Pouring and finishing concrete using various methods
• Vibrating, stripping, and cleaning formwork
• Demolition of masonry, drywall, partitions, ceilings, and finishes
• Use of demolition tools and cutting equipment
• Other tasks as directed by the supervisor

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of three years' experience in commercial construction
• Reliable transportation
• Willingness to work within a 50-mile radius
• Ability to work in various seasonal and weather conditions
