Job summary

Peak Utility Infrastructure, serving the Grand Junction area, is hiring for a field role with SiteWise as a subsidiary. The position involves assisting crews on underground utility projects, with a CDL A required within two weeks and a pay rate of $26.00–$30.00 per hour.

The job is non-exempt and on-site in Grand Junction, CO. Candidates should be able to lift up to 80 lbs, pass background checks, and have a valid driver’s license; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; preferred.
• CDL A license required.
• Experience with underground utilities desirable.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
• Must pass background checks and drug screen.
• Valid driver's license within two weeks of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist crew leader in construction/reconstruction and maintenance work.
• Assist equipment operators, swamping, hand digging, locating underground obstructions.
• Work with specialized equipment including jackhammers, rotary drills, power actuated fasteners and other necessary tools.
• Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
• Work safely around backhoes, excavators, trenchers and dump truck.
• Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.

Essential Functions:

These crews are responsible for going into residential and commercial areas working on underground utilities and working with their crew to complete tasks for the day.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Assist crew leader in construction/ reconstruction and maintenance work

Success Factors:

• Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs multiple times during a work shift
• Ability to climb, dig, work in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces, walking, stooping, and kneeling
• Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions
• Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team with co-workers
• Ability to pass motor vehicle, criminal background check, and comply with drug-free workplace policy
• English usage sufficient to keep records, place orders, and prepare simple narrative reports
• Willingness and ability to learn additional skills

Experience and Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent desired
• Experience working with underground utilities desired
• CDL A is required for this position
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
• Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver’s License is required within two weeks of employment.
• Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
