Job description

If you enjoy working outdoors with trees and equipment used specifically for tree work, the Forestry Laborer I may be the perfect role for you! Don't miss this opportunity to join the Lincoln Parks & Recreation Forestry section in this entry level position. We do not climb, but use aerial lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools. Advancement potential into Arborist I positions are frequent possibilities.

Possession of a Nebraska Certified Pesticide Applicator License is desired.

What You'll Do

  • Work as part of a crew, maintaining public street trees (in right-of-way, medians, and parks)
  • Perform snow removal tasks
  • Inspect, operate, and maintain all equipment and tools to ensure work is performed safely and efficiently
Work Schedule
Full time; 40 hours per week; Monday - Friday; 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or equivalent and any combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills.

Necessary Special Requirement
A valid Driver's License
