Job summary

Sundt Construction in Gilbert, AZ is seeking a construction helper to assist skilled craft workers on assigned duties, learn safety practices, and grow within a project team. You will take direction from foremen and contribute to safe, high-quality on-site work.

The role emphasizes reliability, cooperation with crew members, and adherence to Sundt’s employee-owned culture. Prior NCCER training and basic construction experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• NCCER Core Curriculum and/or a High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year experience (level I), two years' experience (level II) and three plus years' experience in the industrial/commercial construction industry preferred.
• Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.

• If unsure about any aspect of the work or issues regarding safe practices ask a supervisor before continuing.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.)
• May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis
• May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis
• May use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices on a limited basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors
• Move in and around confined, cluttered and uneven areas.
• Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures
• Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis
• Will climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds.
• Will lift, push or pull objects up to 50Ibs. on an occasional basis
• Work up to a 12 hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions.
