Job summary

Ecowaste Solutions is seeking a Laborer in Lake City, FL. The role involves physically demanding, hands-on work alongside route crews, loading, unloading, and clearing trash and recyclables at stops on the route.

Shifts are long (10–12 hours) with Monday–Friday schedules and potential additional hours based on demand. The position requires a valid driver’s license and a willingness to learn as part of a team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Willingness to learn and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Works in safety and life-critical rules, OSHA requirements, and laws.
• Reports unsafe situations or service-related issues immediately.
• Attends scheduled training programs and meetings as required.
• Loads and empties residential and/or commercial containers into the truck.
• Services containers at curbside, dockside, or carryout as needed.
• Operates hoisting devices to lift and empty bins into the truck hopper.
• Assists driver with backing maneuvers on route.
• Notifies Route Manager of incidents, injuries, or property damage.
• Notifies of service interruptions and communicates customer requests to Dispatch.
• Performs duties as scheduled and assists other drivers to meet customer needs.
• Cleans and prepares job sites; picks and sorts materials.
• Uses tools and machines including forklifts, levels, lifts, drills, grinders, saws, pressure washers.
• Works in all weather; unloads material by hand; assembles/disassembles containers.
• Drives and delivers containers; performs other duties as assigned.
