Job summary

The Borough of Keyport is seeking a dependable Laborer 1 to perform a variety of manual labor and public works duties. This full-time position requires maintaining streets, parks, and Borough properties, plus assisting with road repairs, drainage, and general grounds maintenance.

Candidates must be able to work outdoors in varied weather, follow safety procedures, read and write in English, and hold a valid New Jersey driver’s license (CDL may be required depending on duties).

Qualifications

• Ability to perform physical/manual labor for extended periods and outdoors.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid New Jersey driver’s license may be required; CDL may be required depending on duties.
• Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining streets, sidewalks, parks, and other Borough properties
• Mowing grass, trimming hedges, removing weeds and brush
• Collecting refuse and loading/unloading materials and equipment
• Shoveling snow and performing general grounds maintenance
• Assisting with road repairs, asphalt work, concrete work, and drainage/sewer maintenance
• Operating and maintaining tools, vehicles, and public works equipment
• Performing other related duties as assigned
