Job summary

Sims Metal (Sims) is seeking a dependable Laborer to support daily yard operations. The role involves material handling, yard cleanup, sorting, and maintaining a safe, organized work environment.

The position is full-time with first shift hours (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM) and pay rate of $20.00 per hour. Prior labor or warehouse experience is a plus, and full compliance with safety procedures is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or related experience.
• Ability to perform physical labor outdoors in varying weather.
• Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 100 pounds.
• Previous labor/warehouse/yard experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform general labor duties throughout the yard.
• Sort, move, and organize materials as directed.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Assist equipment operators and other team members.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
• Identify and report unsafe conditions, hazards, or equipment issues.

• Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Identify and report unsafe conditions, hazards, or equipment issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ability to perform physical labor in an outdoor environment and varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 25 - 100 pounds, as needed.
• Previous labor, warehouse, construction, or yard experience is a plus but not required.
