Job summary

Russell Standard is seeking a General Laborer to support the Pavement Preservation Team. This outdoor role involves assisting with traffic control, operating construction equipment, loading materials, and keeping worksites safe and productive.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and DOT credentials or the ability to obtain them before start. The position requires overtime, travel to job sites, and the ability to lift at least 50 pounds.

• Performs routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and refers defects or repairs to the supervisor

• Ability to work in a team environment with other crew members, as well as the ability to work independently without close supervision
• Must be available for overnight travel at job sites
• Must be able to work overtime and have a willingness to be flexible in scheduling
• Ability to work varied shifts and long hours during peak operation times (spring, summer and fall)
• Ability to safely lift at least 50 pounds and recognize unsafe operating conditions
• Ability to perform work which requires frequent and regular movement of wrists, hands, and/or fingers
• Ability to perform work which requires frequent and regular walking and standingAbility to see, hear, talk, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity

Work Environment

Work sites are outdoors and may require that work be done in adverse weather conditions. This position requires its responsibilities to be performed in potentially hazardous traffic conditions. Work conditions may involve exposure to hot materials, chemicals, fumes, dust, odors, gases, and other substances used in a construction environment.
