Job description

Summary

The Laborer will primarily focus on the visual inspection, transportation and packaging of final work product according to customer specification.

Essential Functions
  • Adheres to plant and department safety rules, safely operate all equipment and tools, identifies and reports safety problems, corrects when possible.
  • Transports material from production through final packaging, via forklift or other manual and mobilized equipment.
  • Load and unload material for shot blast operations or other value‑added service.
  • Package material into drums, Gaylords, boxes or super sacks according to customer specification, this includes adherence to weight specification.
  • Identify product through labeling and stencils.
  • Perform visual quality inspection of product.
  • Unload trucks with incoming materials.
  • Maintains a clean work environment.
  • Performs miscellaneous functions as needed in various departments.
Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-4 years' experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment preferred.

Competencies

  • Experience operating forklifts preferred.
  • Must have attention for detail, including basic math skills with the ability to add and subtract accurately.
  • Proficient in the basic use of a computer to facilitate the entry and completion of work orders.
  • Able to use basic hand tools.
  • Must physically be able to frequently lift up to 35 lbs. with frequent bending.
  • Able to multi‑task with shifting priorities and multiple interruptions.
  • Must be willing to work shifts and overtime as needed, including 12‑hour shifts.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
