Job summary

Bartlett Cocke General Contractors in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Laborer to join our South Texas team. This full-time on-site role involves assisting crews on roofs, scaffolds, and heavy equipment, performing manual labor, and maintaining a safe, organized job site.

The ideal candidate will have prior commercial construction site experience and be able to pass pre-hire screenings. Travel to multiple job sites may be required; hours can be long and include weekends.

Qualifications

• Ensure that work is performed in a safe manner; ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed; convey problems to the attention of foreman, superintendent or safety manager.
• Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor on construction projects.
• Perform manual work in preparing surfaces.

Physical Demands

• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; and high and/or precarious places. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and vibration; the noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Hours of Work

• This is a full-time position.
• This position frequently requires longer hours and weekend hours. Field management will determine appropriate hours of operation for their respective jobsites, which may vary.
