Archer Western is currently seeking a Common Laborer for the Wasena Bridge Replacement project in Roanoke, VA.

The Common Laborer will perform tasks involving physical labor on construction jobsites, including commercial, industrial, or heavy civil projects. Responsibilities may include operating hand and/or power tools as needed, preparing sites, and assisting with other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical tasks as instructed by the supervisor
• Work with crew members and operate various hand and power tools, including drills and hammers
• Clean and prepare construction sites, including erecting scaffolding, disposing of debris, and digging trenches
• Load and unload supplies manually and with equipment

Qualifications

• Verifiable experience preferred (1 year)
• Ability to climb and maintain balance on scaffolding or ladders
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in adverse weather conditions
• Compliance with safety policies and effective communication skills
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Good manual dexterity; ability to stand, bend, kneel, or sit for long periods
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening
