KS Industries, LLC is seeking a Laborer to support crew leads, equipment operators, crane operators, and welders with a range of manual labor tasks on construction sites. The role emphasizes safety, attendance, proper PPE, and adherence to the Detailed Daily Work Plan.
Responsibilities include pre-trip inspections, tool audits, hazard recognition, rigging, and assisting with various trades while maintaining compliance with company SOPs and safety procedures on diverse client sites.
A Laborer assists crew leads, equipment operators, crane operators, welders, etc. to accomplish daily task which consist of a variety of manual labor functions and duties.
1. Regular and reliable attendance.
2. Prepared and on time for scheduled shift with proper PPE.
3. Engage in morning safety tailgate meeting and communicate safety topic with crew when needed.
4. Perform and fill out pre-trip vehicle inspection before leaving the yard, check all fluids/tires/lights/ and all signs as listed on pre-trip.
5. Perform monthly tool audits on equipment and ensure compliance (vehicle registration, fire extinguisher, etc.).
6. Follow and/or complete the Detailed Daily Work Plan (DDWP) and ensure crew actively participates, knows and follows each procedure.
7. Help identify hazards on the job site by being aware of the dangers associated with hazardous atmospheres.
8. Perform tasks assigned by Crew Lead or Foreman like; mitigate or eliminate hazards on the job site, dig ditches, clean up spills and stand fire watch, buff and grind as needed for welder.
9. Learn proper use and maintenance of various tools such as gas monitors, two-way radios, basic hand tools, shovels, slings etc. Assist with tasks such as bolt-up, rigging of loads, buffing and grinding, etc.
10. Be actively involved in all KSI and Customer Safety Process.
11. Develop knowledge of KSI SOPs and refer to the SOP Manual prior to each task.
12. Perform all physical and mental requirements listed.
Preferably 1-2 years of related industry experience (6 months minimum) along with knowledge of tools.
The locations vary from site to site. Work is physically demanding and requires the ability to concentrate well on the job at hand, in all types of weather. Majority of the work is construction-based work. Walking and working surface vary depending on the terrain, from flat to extreme slopes and frozen, wet, snowy and slippery conditions.
Normally, a full-time employee will work 40 hours per week, depending on the factors such as weather and schedules. Work schedules and hours may vary somewhat depending on specific client locations and projects. In general, applicable work schedules include 5-10’s and some weekends. All labor laws in reference to rest breaks and meal periods will be followed.
