Description

Perform a variety of manual tasks and operate various types of equipment to support highway district operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Be present at the designated work site a minimum of 40 hours per week, with 24-hour call for emergencies.
• Perform manual tasks as assigned, working in a utility capacity.
• Transfer materials and equipment between projects or tasks, assisting workers with varied experience levels.
• Assist with the alignment and movement of heavy construction equipment.
• Direct truck drivers to dumping locations.
• Participate in asphalt patching, paving crews, clearing, mowing, and other related activities.
• Assist with replacing and maintaining county road signs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience

Ability to operate equipment satisfactorily as indicated in the essential functions of the job description.

Education Required

High School diploma or GED, or less than High School with documented training related to essential functions. Alternatively, three to six months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
