Job summary

SRM Concrete, part of Smyrna Ready Mix LLC, seeks a Block Laborer to keep our block plant running smoothly and safely. You will perform physical tasks such as shoveling, sweeping, steam cleaning, painting, and assisting mechanics to minimize downtime and ensure operations stay on schedule.

Ideal candidates are able to work in varying weather, follow safety guidelines, and contribute to a dependable team in a fast-paced concrete environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Shoveling: move materials and clear areas for safe operations.
• Sweeping and cleaning: maintain a clean work environment and steam clean equipment as required.
• Painting: apply paints and coatings to equipment and infrastructure for appearance and safety.
• Mechanical assistance: support the mechanical team during maintenance and repair to minimize downtime.
• Lifting, pushing, and pulling: handle materials and tools safely.

About the Opportunity

We are currently seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team as a Block Laborer. This role is essential to maintaining the functionality and cleanliness of our block operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks that aid in the maintenance and operation of the block plant. Duties will include but are not limited to shoveling, sweeping, steam cleaning, painting, mechanical assistance, and lifting, pushing, and pulling various objects.

Your Mission & Key Responsibilities

• Shoveling: Manually move materials and clear areas to ensure safe and efficient block operations.
• Sweeping and Cleaning: Maintain a clean work environment through sweeping debris and steam cleaning equipment and areas as required.
• Painting: Apply paints and coatings to equipment, signs, and infrastructure to maintain aesthetic appearance and safety standards.
• Mechanical Assistance: Provide support to the mechanical team during maintenance and repair activities to ensure minimal downtime of machinery.
• Lifting, Pushing, and Pulling: Safely handle materials, tools, and equipment, including the lifting, pushing, and pulling of various objects as necessary for daily operations.
