Overview

The Laborer I will perform a variety of tasks to support construction operations, including material handling, site cleanup, and assisting skilled tradespeople. Key Responsibilities
  • Material Handling:
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of construction materials, equipment, and tools, ensuring safe and efficient handling and transportation to designated work areas.
  • Organize and maintain construction materials, supplies, and equipment on‑site, keeping inventory well‑organized and accessible to crew members.
  • Site Cleanup:
  • Perform general cleanup and debris removal at construction sites, including sweeping, shoveling, and disposing of waste materials in designated containers or disposal areas.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and housekeeping standards.
  • Assistance to Skilled Trades:
  • Provide assistance and support to skilled tradespeople, such as carpenters, ironworkers, and welders, by fetching tools, materials, and equipment as needed.
  • Assist with simple construction tasks, such as digging trenches, pouring concrete, and setting up scaffolding, under the direction of experienced workers.
  • Safety Compliance:
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, procedures, and regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and participating in safety training sessions.
  • Report any safety hazards, incidents, or near misses to supervisors immediately and take appropriate corrective actions as directed.
  • Equipment Maintenance:
  • Assist with basic maintenance and cleaning of construction equipment, tools, and machinery, including lubricating moving parts, cleaning surfaces, and performing routine inspections.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, damage, or defects to supervisors for repair or replacement.
  • Team Collaboration:
  • Work collaboratively with other crew members, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to ensure efficient and timely completion of construction tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to receive instructions, provide updates on work progress, and coordinate activities.
