Job summary

The Municipal Authority of the City of New Kensington is seeking a Laborer to support field operations at the New Kensington water system. Responsibilities include outdoor work in all weather, using hand tools, jackhammer, ditch tamper, and related equipment used in water distribution.

Candidates must be able to handle after-hours callouts and rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays when required. Applicants should live within 10 air miles of the main office at 920 Barnes Street.

Laborer

The Municipal Authority of the City of New Kensington is accepting applications for the position of Laborer until 4:00 P.M. on Friday August 21, 2026.

Candidates must be willing to work outside in all types of weather conditions, able to use hand tools, jackhammer, ditch tamper, and other tools & equipment used in water distribution systems.

Candidates also must be available to work after hour callouts. Normal working hours are Monday Friday from 7:00 AM 3:00 PM. Candidates also must be willing to work rotating shifts and even weekends and holidays at the water treatment plant at times as a fill in.

All candidates must live within 10 air miles of the Municipal Authority of the City of New Kensingtons main office located at 920 Barnes Street, New Kensington. A Pennsylvania D.E.P. Class A Water System Operator Certification would be preferred.
